Pirates of the Caribbean Video Game Finally Out for XBOX 360, Wii, PSP and PlayStation 3

Movie-instigated video games have a terrible reputation, and the ones based on the latest “Pirates of the Caribbean'’ flick won’t change that.

But based on the three I’ve been playing — the Xbox 360, Wii and
Nintendo DS versions — there’s some fun to be had with this batch of
tie-ins from Disney Interactive Studios. Not enough to dispel the notion that movie games are mostly an uninspired formality, but enough to reward “Pirates'’ fans with some diverting hours if they take the plunge.

It's FINALLY here! I own every Pirates of the Caribbean game so far and really enjoyed trying this one out.

Believe it or not, but other than a couple of handheld games, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest didn't have a companion game on any of the popular game consoles. Disney Interactive Studios is making up for lost time with the new Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which features some great plot lines from both the second and third Pirates movies.

While the game does a solid job of capturing the look and humor of both of those movies, it kind of fails to emulate the films' action sequences as well as one would expect. The hand to hand combat is rather simple, and you'll grow tired of pounding on the attack button well before you reach the end of the game.

Shooting over PlayStation lands Bay Area grad in jail

1 DEAD, 2 WOUNDED AT FRESNO STATE; SUSPECT CLAIMS IT WAS SELF-DEFENSE

Jonquel Brooks was a popular Hayward High School athlete who had found his way to college in Fresno with an eye on a career in law enforcement or as an attorney.

Now Brooks suddenly finds himself on the other side of the law - accused of shooting and killing a man and wounding two others in an argument over a video game console.

"People don't deserve to die for stupid stuff like this," said 22-year-old Drew Pfeiff, who was hit in the left shoulder.

Would someone please tell me why these idots would ever KILL over a PlayStation 3? I mean seriously, you can get one for free online these days! It's not like they just came out and people are desperate to give one to their kids for Christmas.

Perhaps it was the game they were playing. But seriously, who would kill over a game of Legend of the Dragon?

Wii, Xbox 360 sales up, PS3 down at Ebay

Sales for Nintendo Co.'s Wii and Microsoft Corp.'s increased while movement for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 decreased in the latest auction data from Ebay.

Wii sales increased seven percent to rank in as the No. 1 most popular video game system on Ebay in the past two weeks. It carries an average sale price of $405.84, well above its $249 retail price.

Ranking at No. 2 is the Xbox 360 with an increase of three percent in sales. The Xbox 360 Premium carries an average sale price of $348.36, or $50 under its MSRP.

Sales for the PS3 decreased two percent in the same period to rank at No. 3. The latest Playstation console carries an average selling price of $596.77, just under its $599 retail price.

What a lot of these types of news articles do not take into consideration is that sales data on the PS3, Wii, PSP and XBOX are different for every part of the world.

In Australia, the PlayStation 3 sells just as much as the Wii, while in Japan 70% of game console sales come from the Wii. Only here in the US do we see so much attention to the XBOX 360 as selling more than other video game consoles.

In the end, it all comes down to which game console you already own or are most drawn to depending on your demographics and peer influences.

Personally, I find the PlayStattion 3 to be the best on the market. Take that with a grain of salt though as I may just not be your peer group ;-)

Final: Steel Horizon a sunk battleship on Nintendo

Steel Horizon for the Nintendo is an average strategy offering that sinks under a clunky interface. The game includes decent strategy theories, however, the automated battles fail to execute full battle control for players.

Steel Horizon offers several modes, including Campaign, Skirmish, Vs. Mode, and Tutorial. The Tutorial provides an excellent job to detail the strategy and tactics for the game.

In battle, players have basic and advanced options to direct placement and battle attacks. Players can move, attack, direct facing, read ship info and reanalyze objectives. In addition, a particular ship may employ special attacks like rapid fire to concentrate on enemy ships.

If you loved Battleship, then this is the game for you.

I really have to tell you though that I really hate some of the reviews people make on the web. It's almost like they never even played the game!

There is nothing "clunky" about this game. The graphics are amazing and you will be pleasently surprised at the secret scenes that can be found by pressing all buttons at once.

Spiderman 3: The Game for XBOX and PS3

Treyarch has gone and published one of the best games on the market: Spiderman 3. The publisher for the game is Activision and they deserve a sincere congratulations for all their hard work.

In this game, Spider-Man prepares to save New York once more, and with the power of the black suit, bad guys don't stand a chance!

In the game, when using the Nintendo Wii, you'll be able to unleash the power of the black suit with the Wiimote and nunchuk as Spider-Man 3.

Part of the game's story line includes Dr. Curt Connors unleashing the hidden evil within during his extensive research to possibly regenerate a new right arm.

Spider-Man 3 developer Treyarch clearly wants to give gamers and Spider-fans the best Spider-Man experience they can possibly get. You will not be disappointed!

Personally, my favorite part of the game is Venom!
